Vara was created to usurp her father’s throne and transform the universe into a utopia, but the godling fears she’ll never figure out how to use her dormant powers. She spends her days accompanying a team of angels on unsanctioned missions to rescue mortals from disasters. On one such mission aboard the R.M.S. Titanic, a gargantuan four-eyed snake attacks and later kidnaps one of the angels.
The team is forced to partner with the demon Reef. Vara can’t help an instant attraction to him, causing her best friend Chai to become even more possessive. They track Garoth to the oldest galaxy in the universe and succeed in rescuing the kidnapped angel, but then Reef betrays them all.
Vara’s journey to righting the demon’s wrongs leads her to Hell, a perilous place called the Abyss, and even another universe. Along the way, she uncovers disastrous secrets kept from her by those she considered family. Will she find the willpower to take her place as a Goddess? Or is she doomed to feel like an outsider for the rest of eternity?
