Lonely without the other former avatars, Jazzy devotes her time to searching for Maylan’s lost twin sister. During her pursuit across the continent, a perilous encounter with a reanimated skeleton leads to a reluctant partnership with the dryad Ghelt, erstwhile librarian. Although secretive about his own mission and unenthusiastic about accepting a traveling companion, Ghelt nonetheless assists with finding the missing twin, Sinara.
Jazzy is instantly attracted to the courageous elf, but Sinara’s sole focus is on removing the powerful source dampener forced on her long ago by the evil King Remurt. To Ghelt’s dismay, the only hope for getting rid of the magickal constraint coincides with his goal – to find a living unicorn. No one alive knows why the unicorns were once hunted to near extinction. While the trio follows a series of clues and suspicious coincidences to the unicorns’ location, a terrifying creature out of legend stalks them, determined to prevent their success.
